How to Make the Perfect Stove Top Popcorn

There’s nothing like old fashioned stove top popcorn!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. place the oil and 3 kernels in a large heavy pot, cover tightly and place over medium heat
  2. when you hear one of the kernels pop, pour in the rest of the kernels and cover.
  3. shake the pot above the burner, holding the lid on.
  4. when popping slows way down, remove from heat and carefully pour into bowl.
  5. add the butter to the same pot and let it melt.
  6. drizzle the melted butter over the popcorn and mix
  7. add salt to taste, or other toppings

Notes

I use the lid as a shield, I’ve had the odd stray kernel pop in my face.
