Preparing and eating real, healthy food isn’t time-consuming, check out these delicious, real food recipes in 30 minutes or less.
Oh our busy lives. Every evening it’s a rat race. With chores, kid’s activities and homework, who needs to pile on more things to do right?
Unfortunately, we do have to eat, the kids are going to scream for FOOOOOOD and hubby is right behind them. You want to feed your family well. Giving them the best possible meals so they will thrive and stay healthy.
Making healthy meals takes too long and you just don’t have the time in the evening for preparing them. You’re more apt to grab a box of processed mac n’ cheese and a dinner roll. Right? Oh, I know this story because I have been there (even when I knew its was so unhealthy for the kids).
There’s a better option and it’s called keeping things simple.
When you start to cook using real food ingredients, you may not know where to start, so I am going to give you hand. A tip I used when I started out. Pick recipes that your family loves to eat that are simple. Maybe it is mac n’ cheese or its grilled cheese sandwich. Whatever works for your guys and doesn’t tie you to the stove all night is what you’ll stick with. So don’t pick an elaborate meal for Monday night. Keep it for the weekend.
Let’s choose grilled cheese and a salad for an example. You’ll make the sandwich using whole grain bread (get the rules and the list of what you can and cannot eat), real cheese only (you can buy it already sliced if you want but no processed slices or spreads) and lightly butter the bread with real butter (no fake butters allowed). While you grill the sandwiches up, you have time to throw together a garden salad. That’s pretty simple and its real food. Add a glass of milk and maybe a bowl of fresh strawberries and whip cream for dessert. Presto! That’s just an example, if you guys don’t like grilled cheese try …
One of my family’s favourites are these made from scratch chicken fingers. They are so good and made with only 3 ingredients. Pair them with a serving of sweet potato fries or macaroni and cheese. The family will love these meals.
The important thing here is to replace the unhealthy processed ingredients with real food. Don’t make it stressful, just make it simple and y’all will love it.
